Brainspotting: Healing Where Words Can't Reach

Talk therapy is powerful, but it has a boundary: it can only work with what we can put into words. A great deal of our emotional pain, especially the kind formed early or during overwhelming moments, is stored somewhere words struggle to reach.

Brainspotting is a brain-body approach that works with this directly. By holding the eyes on a specific point while staying aware of bodily sensation, we access the deeper, subcortical parts of the brain where these experiences are held.

Where you look affects how you feel

It sounds almost too simple, but the position of the eyes is connected to how the brain processes and stores experience. A particular spot can hold a charge, and gently staying with it allows the nervous system to process and release what has been stuck.

The body keeps the score, and it also knows the way back to rest.

Clients often describe the relief as physical rather than intellectual: a loosening in the chest, a breath that finally goes all the way down. Nothing is forced. The work honours the pace your system is ready for.
